About the network

Casper

Casper is a proof-of-stake layer-1 blockchain built for real-world assets and enterprise use, with upgradeable smart contracts and predictable fees. Casper 2.0, live since May 2025, introduced the Zug consensus protocol with fast finality, and later upgrades split staking issuance between stakers and an ecosystem fund.

Casper FAQ

Any CSPR holder with at least 500 CSPR, the network’s minimum delegation. Delegating, undelegating and redelegating each cost a 2.5 CSPR fee, so keep a few extra CSPR in your wallet.

Yes. Delegation is non-custodial: your CSPR stays under your own account, and BitNordic can never move or withdraw it.

Rewards are paid every era, about every 2 hours, after BitNordic’s 10% commission, and are added to your stake automatically so they compound. Since Casper 2.0, rewards follow each validator’s own performance, so reliable uptime matters.

Undelegated CSPR returns to your wallet after 7 eras, about 14-16 hours, and earns nothing in the meantime. To switch validators, use Undelegate Stake and tick Redelegate.

Casper has no slashing at present. The main risks are price and dilution: Casper 2.2 added a one-time issuance released quarterly until 2028, much of it staked by the treasury, which spreads rewards across more stake.

BitNordic has validated Casper since mainnet genesis in 2021 and stakes its own CSPR alongside its delegators, with a 10% commission. You can review our validator’s history on CSPR.live before you delegate.
